About me
I’m Joy Darrah, the founder of Animal Rehab with Joy. and sole Veterinary Physiotherapist and McTimoney Chiropractor Practitioner behind this practice.
I am fully qualified, insured and registered with National Association of Veterinary Physiotherapists (NAVP), McTimoney Animal Association (MAA) and Animal Health Professions’ Register (AHPR).
I completed a BSc (Hons) Veterinary Physiotherapy degree in 2021 and began a career as a Veterinary Physiotherapist.
I have always had a passion for animals.
It all started growing up on a farm in New Zealand.
All I wanted to do from a young age was work with animals.
I started working in the equine industry in 2013 which sparked an interested in improving horses’ welfare and quality of life while helping them reach their athletic potential.
Working as a Veterinary Physiotherapist I discovered how much I loved working with dogs as well as horses, helping improve their lives and make a difference not only to them but also to their owners as well.
I also discovered a passion for continued learning and developing my skills to improve my ability as a therapist.
This led me to completing an MSc Animal Manipulation degree in 2024 with the McTimoney College of Chiropractic.
I’m able to help animals both through chiropractic techniques and physiotherapy which helps to ensure that all of your animals musculoskeletal needs will be met.
I have experience working with post surgical rehabilitation, neurological conditions, orthopaedic conditions, muscle strains, wound healing and conditioning of both canine and equine athletes.
I also have experience with show jumping, eventing and racing which has shaped the high standard and quality of service that is delivered to my clients daily.
